I'm sure they wouldn't prescribe it to you if it was something you absolutely couldn't take. However, I've had Vicodin before and it made me feel really unattached and kind of high... Everyone takes to it differently but not something I would want to feel while pregnant
Thank you so much. I was just worried i only have taken one so far and its really not helping with the pain it just makes me dizzy :-( i don't think I'll be taking anymore
Its fine. I have had kidney stones since ten weeks. (31 weeks now) and my Dr prescribes me vicade. But I only take it when it gets really bad. I had to be on much stronger pain meds with my now four year old and he is happy and healthy. Follow drs orders. They usually know what they are doing!
I got prescribed vicoden for migraines I started having and even went to the hospital for them because they got so bad, but my advice would be take them only for when the pain in severe because the docs at the hospital and pharmacy say it hasn't been proven safe for pregnant women.
I should add... I was perscribed tylanol 3. I didn't feel comfortable with the possible risks to baby. When in doubt ask... It's your body and your baby.
It is fine. Not the best thing to take but it is fine. I was in the ER with gallstones at 22 weeks and was offered vicoden for pain. The doctor said it is okay. Worst case senerio baby is loopy and sleepy at birth.
Honestly your doctor wouldn't prescribe it if she thought it wasn't safe for you and baby, so don't worry, plus your doctors know more then any of us do lol
Vicodin is an opiate that is highly addictive & if taken for a long period of time both you & the baby could form a dependency on them... I would assume tho that your dr would know best as to whether they're safe or not? I wouldn't take them but then again I won't take tylenol while pregnant.. but obviously your dr thinks they're safe so that's completly up to you
