I plan on getting my daughter a necklace that says big sister and a little goody bag of toys, (she's 5)
I'm making a "Big Sister" gift bag for my 3 1/2 year old daughter & giving it to her when she comes to see us at the hospital. I'm going to put a couple of small things in there for her (new paint, bubbles, a new dvd to watch while we are gone, maybe a new baby doll) I think its a great idea to get them a gift if you have the extra $ :) I'm worried about her feeling left out as well.
I was involved in all my moms pregnancy's,(me and my dad would paint her belly, or talk to the baby while she was pregnant) when my brothers would get here I already felt like I knew them I had toys and stuff to play with but wanted to see and help with the baby's lol you can buy her something, but depending on her age she will probably want to be with mommy and the baby instead. But as far as a ipod lol get it if you know she likes it and you want too :) you can give your children whatever you choose I would just buy a little protective case so if she drops it though my neice is 3 and she has I Ipad(they bought a indestructo case at walmart and its not broken and she loves it, theres so many games that can actually teach them stuff)
Id be afraid of it making your elder daughter feel uninvolved but if its just something for your daughter totally unbaby related then i like the idea of the ipod :) Personally i would sway towards you and your daughter making/getting something special for the baby, try and involve the three of you as opposed to getting your daughter something to use at a distance but you are her mum and you know best :)
Thank you. I really needed to hear that. She is my daughter, so I think that is what I am going to do that then. :) I don't care if my mom says its a bad idea.
