spotting at 35 weeks

hey ladies!

I had my 35 week check up yesterday, and my midwife did a internal exam to see if i was dialated. Which i was! 1 cm! but my question is... I have been spotting since yesterdays exam. is this normal?? it is more of a brownish blood... i was just concerned bc throught out my whole pregnancy i have not spotted once.

most drs here in the US start doing exams at 35 weeks and the weekly up until delivery to see how far dialated and effaced you are so they can get a better idea of delivery date.

Why would she do an internal exam? where you having contractions?  My Dr is totally agaist that unless there are signs of labor...Is that common in the US?

that is awesome!!!!  1 cm dialated!!!  yay!!!  only 9 more to go ;-)  i hope to have a few centimeters under my wing when i enter the delivery room as well.  have you had a lot of braxton hicks?  i have been having a lot lately and am wondering if they help at all in the dialation process (i'm 33 weeks).

sounds like the spotting is normal.  keep us posted!!!
