spotting at 5 1/2 weeks? Worried...

Hi everyone --
Has anyone had spotting in their pregnancy? I'm at 5 1/2 weeks and had light cramping and some brown spotting when I wiped... it just really sacred me. Any stories would be helpful!

Well.....
I went to the docs... because I gathered it wasnt vaginal bleeding (sorryy), I gathered I had Hemorriods because I didnt have any thing to do with Piles at all... So anyways, doc tells me to go hosp, go to hosp  5 and a half hours, for them to tell me its not vaginal bleeding and I should go and see my doc.
And kinda its not as much, but there is still blood with Bowel movements! I give up!!!

My mum had periods all the way through her pregnancy with my brother.. and he's a 3 yr old little GRRR...
But I am glad everything is okay... Your HCG levels sound AMAZING! :) they're doubling like they should be. OMG harry and your little one could be best friends!

hi everyone: thanks for responding. I did go see my dr and get my hcg levels checked last week. They were high: 23,000 on wed and 49,000 on friday... so...that's great!! I've continued to have a little brown spotting. Almost creamy (like mixed with CM) and only when I wipe. Nothing really on my panties. I stopped worrying about it and just imagine its old blood coming out from a growing uterus and placenta. No cramps... and it comes and goes..like every few days. I've read from alot of women they spotted throughout. I have my first US in a few weeks, so I'll wait til then. I'm really not worried about it anymore.

I had red bleeding today....
I still feel movement so I guess everything is okay :)

i had red bleeding at 7 weeks and everything turned out just fine. my daugther is 3 1/2 months :) i wouldn't worry :) try to update when you can.

Hi there, I have been going through the same thing, I had what I thought was implantation bleeding before I was due to bleed, about 10 days after I got the +ive HPT, then come to about 4 weeks 4days, I started brown spotting again, which of course I was worried about, So anyways, I went for a scan today to find out how far along I actually was and see if everything was ok etc, and everything is fine, they saw baby and heartbeat. They tell me that the fact the bleeding is brown is of little concern, it usually indicates old blood and can be the last of implantation bleeding coming away slowly. So, if your spotting is not heavy and not bright red, clots etc, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you are very worried still after reading, you can always see your doctor, and they can arrange a scan to rest your mind and also thye can check your serum levels to see if they are rising as they should (contributes to viability) and also they can check for any little infections to see if anything like that could be causing the bleeding. Hey, i had brown spotting at 6weeks pregnant, by the next day, it was fresh blood and i was having a miscarriage. So it may start of brown, but it can always start fresh blood. Im in no way saying u r having a miscarriage, im just telling u my experience with spotting. At this stage, if u were having a miscarriage, there would be nothing they could do. Best of luck, go and see your doctor if ur worried.
