stinky urine... sorry if TMI

OK.. so i know this might be TMI but i have been taking zofran for morning sickness since about 4 weeks ago... it has been great and worked miracles.. but... it does have one side effect or at least i think its due to the zofran... or maybe the prenatals?? everytime i pee this strong smell comes from it... its not strong pee smell but kind of a sour smell?? at first i thought it was my bathroom that maybe was backed up or had something in it that was ausing the smell.. but cleaned it as well as i could and even had DH stick a long wire in the toilet just to make sure it wasnt a dead animal stuck in the pipelines or anything... then i went to the bathroom at my friends house... and there was the smell again... so now i know for sure its my urine... but why?? is it hte zofran? is it the vitamins? i have heard it could be from a UTI but i am not dehydrated... i have been drinking only water all the time as much as i hate it.. thats all i drink cause my body is asking for it... so i really cnat think of anything else that would cause this... i am also very constipated... i used to go # 2 everyday at least once a day, and now im going probly once a week and i am in the bathroom for over 20 minutes... TMI... is this all related?? is it at least normal? anything i can do to help it??

any advice will be greatly appreciated...

I dont take zofran. But my urine smells a bit sweeter type thing.. Well a funny smell but strong. When I was researching pregnancy symptoms before I took my test, it was down as one of the symptoms, so I guess its normal?

I heard that in the first trimester its common to notice a change in the smell of our urine and that it may smell stronger to us thanks to hormones and extra sensitivity to smells. Also constipation can be normal in pregnancy all you need to do is up your fiber intact by eating fiber rich foods or by taking a suppliment like SunWorshiper suggested.

I think it is due to the pregnancy. While I was pregnant, my urine went through phases of smelling horrible. It was almost like a cat urine smell, and very strong. I never took Zofran, and the prenatals didn't cause it because I continued to take them even after my son was born for breastfeeding. Like I said, during pregnancy, there would be weeks when it would smell bad and then I'd go for another few weeks without it smelling. Since I've had my baby, I have not had the problem once. So I'm pretty sure it's all due to pregnancy. But if you experience any pain, it could be a UTI. Call your OB if you are really concerned about it.

I had the same thing. I also took zofran!  I don't think it was related to the zofran because I'm still taking it and don't have this problem anymore. I think it was just that i am so sensitive to smell right now. Also had the constipation problem and I now take Fiber Choice chewable orange fiber pills. Start with 1/2 tab once a day for a week and if needed you can increase from there. Also walking can help get things moving. If you start w a whole tab of fiber you can feel very bloated and be super gassy so w fiber always slowly increase.

As for the urine I would suggest asking your OB bc we are much more likely to get a UTI while pregnant. It could be prenatals or zofran or random but at least you wouldn't know it's nothing to worry about.
