My son is going to my mom's so he's not bored at the hospital lol. He will come home a couple of days after baby is born once we are home. But who cares if anyone thinks it's bizarre you do what you want chica
I'm thinking it might be a bit much, especially for the 5 yr old. Discuss it w/ them & see how they feel about it. I personally wouldn't be able to focus. It'll just be my hubby & I. Whatever you decide will be fine.
I personally would never have kids (I'm pregnant with number 3) in the delivery room, I think it would be a huge distraction & I would be worried about what they're doing instead of focusing on my labour. I only have hubby, midwife & OB, no one else.
I've had a couple in during some of my births, its totally up to how you feel they would handle it, its usually a good idea to have a support person in the room for them, just incase they want to leave the room :)
i think your 12 year old will be fine but your 5 year old im not too sure because when they are young they could get scared. every body has their own opinions about it, i have a almost 4 year old boy and im due in august and my daughter that i already have will be 2 august 29th and this lil girl is due august 11th and i dont think i will have them in the room with me so they will be with grandpa in the waiting room but if they were older i would most likely have them in the room. maybe you should ask your kids if they would want to, i mean i would but thats just me=). its your choice and if you dont feel comfortable with it then you might not want them in there with you. at first with my kids i did want them in the room but after thinking about it i decided not to have them because they are so young but your kids are old enough to be in there if you did want them in there with you.
