extra scan late in pregnancy?

My midwife has refered me on for another scan.. she measured my uterus and said it was measuring a bit bigger than what it should be. so i have to have a scan to see if baby is a big boy or if its just me... Im 35 weeks today :) anyone else have this happen and what was the outcome? ;)

I had an u/s yesterday I am 39+6.  My doc was wanting to check sizes cuz my fundal measurement was 35 cm but she was thinking I have a 7# + baby in there.  The u/s tech did all the measurements of the baby and she is measuring out at 35 weeks and less than 6#.  So who knows!

I am on my third baby. My first I went into labor at 40 weeks 1 day and 3 days later had an emergency csection and he was 9lbs 2 oz 23 inches long. My second 14 months 4 days later was taken by csection at 39 weeks exactly and he was 9 lbs 5 oz 22 inches long. This one is a girl and at 34 weeks I had my coworker scan her and she was about 6 lbs 7 oz which will make another 9 pounder. There are no guarantees on sizes. Relax and enjoy the ride the baby will be what the baby will be and there's not a lot that can be done about it.

Actually all my friends and families babies have gotten smaller except one! I doubt it's true in my case either, unless she came right now, I think she's going to be bigger than her big brother was haha

It can be off, my fundal height is measuring spot on, and according to my U/S my little girl is measuring big, about 6lbs 4ozs at 34 weeks, estimated to be about 9-10lbs at birth. My son was 8lbs 9.5ozs. There's really no way to tell until your baby gets here, definitely not something set in stone! Big means healthy, and there's nothing wrong with that! :)

I am an ultrasound tech so I can assure you tummys  measuring off for weeks is very normal and doesn't always mean anything. We do third trimester scans for women measuring big and small and there is no real consistency to how baby is actually measuring. Lots of times it can even be how much fluid is around baby. Also don't take the weight the ultrasound gives baby to be as accurate we are only accurate within a pound. Meaning if the scan shows 7 pounds baby could be anywhere between 6 and 8 pounds. I have heard they can be even further off depending on who's doing the ultrasound. I wouldn't worry about babies size.
