Teething!

How can I really tell that my baby is teething? She chomps on her hand, like I've never fed her before. I'll try to feed her, sometimes, she doesn't want it. Her drooling is a little more excessive, I guess? I don't pay much attention to that. I realize that these are all tell tale signs, but they could  also just be her being a regular baby... who's extremely cranky & sleepy. To me, the line btwn crankiness & teething is similar. My dad bought some baby orajel, which I know may not be the best thing for her being so young, I'd like to know some opinions or information, please!

Yes! I buy them at frys. Walmart has them and so does walgreens.  I buy hylands teething tablets.
Also, freeze baby wash cloths. Your daughter  might enjoy chewing on them!  When she gets older, you can make little water or juice pops. I started giving them to my daughter at 5 months. i buy Philips avent soothie pacis and stick them in the freezer. My daughter  loves them.

My daughter  started teething at 5 months. Lots of extra drool, softer stools, biting her fist, clenching her jaw...
I give my daughter  teething tablets. I personally  don't use orajel unless it's necessary. She doesn't like it.

My babies kind of chewed down hard on things when teething. But they started it (along with that lovely drooling) like 2 to 3 months before they actually bust a tooth through.  Both of my babies got ear infections with their first teeth at 6 months but started chomping down on things hard, purposely by around 3 months.  My kids had never had an ear infection and never went to day care.  My pediatrician said it is common (for some reason) for babies to get a little fever and/or an ear infection with teething.  It's rough on baby and rough on mama!!  good luck
