I had mine two days ago I thought my tasted like orange koolaid and I downed mine no problem . my doctor told me I didn't have to fast for it they did ask me when last time I ate was . it was no big deal and I was entertained at the lab by the old people . I too was asked to do unexpectedly but it really wasn't a big deal at all.

I just had my one hour test yesterday and it was nothing. Everyone had me so worried, but I literally chugged the drink and it tasted like Gatorade to me. It was no big deal at all. I honestly felt like people who had complained and told me it was so bad were just wimps. Don't sike yourself up over it.

I had to do one but I ate before but I went in for an emergency check up and they decided to do one. I got sick for two days after doing it bc of the amount of glucose... it was awful.

My doctor told me to eat a normal breakfast, wait two hours and then drink the glucose... Wait another hour (as I go in for my appointment) and then they will take my blood when I get there. All in all pretty easy besides drinking that stuff and keeping it down... Tastes like a melted lollipop.

Oh yeah the drink... How did I forget about that?  Mine tasted like thick flat sprite.  I failed two hour test and bam they diagnosed me with gestational diabetes, didn't get to do a three hour test.  Also if you get diagnosed with gestational diabetes, it's not too hard to control with proper diet and exercise so don't get discouraged if you get that diagnosis.

You will have to drink a very sugary drink within 5 minutes.  Then 1 hour later they will take your blood. You can't have anything to drink or eat during that time.  Some people get a little nauseous from the drink. It just have me heartburn. It took about a week to get my results.  If you don't pass, you will have to do a 3 hour test.

Oh... They draw your blood, then draw your blood again in an hour then again in another hour if you're doing the two hour.  If it's a three hour test then one mere draw after another hour.  You get your blood drawn, then sit and wait... No drinking anything but water, no chewing gum, no eating a mint and my fave they remind you of is no smoking haha duh I'm pregnant I'm not gonna smoke!  Then you're done.  You have to relax between blood draws because they don't want you walking around burning off sugar, they want a true test of your blood sugar. Good luck to you!

I'm almost 36 weeks and have had two glucose tests.  I couldn't eat or drink anything going except water for ten hour prior to the test.  You should be able to drink water.  Bring a granola bar or something for after because you'll be hungry!
