Blighted Ovum still at 20 weeks

II was diagnosed with blighted ovum and I am trying to wait and pass it naturally but I am at 20 weeks now and still have not passed it.  Is this normal and should I be concerned?

sorry for your loss.  i found out at around 8weeks that it stopped at 6, i am now roughly 12weeks and just started bleeding today, im hoping it passes on its own but i had an internal ultrasound today and everything is still in there and hasnt moved :(,  its taken its time thats for sure, in saying that,my HCG levels were abnormally high (109000 at 8wks) so they have further to drop which could be why its taking sooo long but  i guess everyone is different

I too have to agree with petitewonder and kimmery, you need to be in touch with your Dr. .

I am so sorry for your loss but, I have had 3 miscarriages and my Dr's always gave me 2 weeks after my HCG levels started dropping to pass naturally..

Best Wishes

i am so sorry to hear this. i agree with petitewonder: you should see your doctor again as there is a risk of infection. be on the alert for any fever, increased nausea or vomiting. good luck hun.

You may not pass it on your own...  How long has it been since your diagnosis?  Has your doctor mentioned anything about the risk of infection???

I remember when I was diagnosed with my blighted ovum, I read a story online where it took a lady almost 9 weeks but she passed it naturally..

I just fear that if you are 20 weeks, its been quite an extensive wait already
