swelling

So pretty much every doctor's appointment my doctor has told me my weight gain is too much and is probably caused my water retention. Everytime I gain too much. He tells me to lie down more and drink more water. Problem is I'm on my feet at work nearly 12 hrs a day. I work 40 hours solid. There is no cutting back on hours and part time isn't an option. So my appt yesterday he told me if my swelling doesn't go down he may put me on bed rest and said if I don't cut down my hours he'll send me to stay in the hospital. I'm 32+2. Idk what to do. I have to keep working :( but I heard its also normal for the doctors to say they'll put you on bed rest for swelling

I live in Texas. Work in a warehouse for a large clothing company and its a set 40 hour week. You work 40 hrs or you don't work at all.

not sure how it works where you are from, but if your doctor were to send a note to your work then would your work be forced to cut to your hours? I know here in Ontario they have to abide doctors orders but I know its different at other places.

Cut out as much carbs as you can, sugars and grains contribute to holding lots of water.  And like he said drink tons of water.

Oh I've cut down on sodium a lot. I put my feet up as much as I can and drink tons of water. For the moment my blood pressure is fine. But now I'm scared in 2 weeks at my next appointment he'll send me to the hospital :(

Well swelling could mean some serious issues especially if you're swelling in your face hands etc and its accompanied with blurry vision, protein and/or sugar in urine, or high blood pressure. Try cutting down on your sodium in take it may help with the swelling. Good luck momma I hope you dont land in bed rest!
