swimming in the lake?

This may sound like a dumb question to some. I was planning on swimming in the lake over the Summer and my mom said it's not safe because if certain bacteria that are in the lake. Is this true? Or will I be fine?

A swimming pool and hot tub are a little but different than a lake.

I went swimming in the lake, swimming pool and hot tub as well...lol. It was all fine. You should shower throughly though. But just to be on the safe side I would ask your ob or midwife :)

It's recommended if your pregnant not to swim in rivers or lakes due to bacteria
