I got a chest piece while pregnant, at about 5wks and found out I was pregnant at 6wks and 1day. My tattoo healed fine but your immune system is lower when you're pregnant because pregnancy puts alot of stress on your body.
You can get a tattoo any time you want. During pregnancy or after, just know that during pregnancy its not advised due to the high risk factors like getting hepatitis C, HIV, bacteria infections and now ebola (which is only contracted through bodily fluids) which can be very harmful not only to you but also to the baby. After pregnancy is perfectly fine, you just havd to wait 6 weeks after since your body is still in the process of healing and you wouldn't want to go into shock while getting one. You now know the risk factors and the decision is completely up to you, just weigh out everything before hand.
Blood banks wont allow you to donate blood for 1 year after getting a tattoo because they worry about Hepatitis C infections depending on the state you live in and the place that gives you the tattoo. That should tell you its not a good idea to get even a small one while pregnant. Its on the red cross website.
Besides most credible tattoo parlors won't tattoo you if they know your pregnant. On the off chance it puts you in early labor.
I would just wait. Whatever you feel your baby is feeling whether it be happiness, stress, or pain. Please wait. If ya'll are getting married, what's a few more months to get the tattoo? Ya'll will be spending the rest of your lives together.
Me and my fiance got engaged. And are saving up for a ring. All I want is a small date and name on my ring finger. Is that too much?
Ink should be a concern as you can have an adverse reaction to it.
Also, the adrenaline rush you can get can cause stress and possibly labor. You can always get a tattoo after you have a baby.
I got a small tatt on my arm at 16 weeks i think and everything is fine.
Just wait 9 months to get a tattoo
Ink is not the problem, but staff infections are because now that we are pregnant our immune system is taking care of both ourselves and our baby. So it's easier for us to get sick or get infections. So the tattoo may end up not healing as quickly or getting infected.
