That's why I'm willing to answer all question, regardless of how silly others may think they are. My knowledge may help someone.

Jesykajean and bebe5709 it is truly astonishing! And yes some things are very silly but others are sad. There have been times that I've wondered how some children have lived as long as they have with the things that parents ask, and it makes you fear what they aren't asking.

I got one at 4 weeks before I knew that I was pregnant.  She is fine so far, but i have heard the ink can poison a growing baby during pregnancy.  On the plus side, you don't have much longer momma!. ;-)

Knufrio, I also work in the medical field, formerly for an OB/GYN, and people do ask the silliest things sometimes! It is hard to keep a straight face.

Knufrio, there is a lot of stupid in this world. There is genuine lack of knowledge or understanding not always the fault of those who ask. But there is also a ton of ignorance and lack of common sense that astojnds me. Nothing surprises me anymore :/

I highly doubt you will find a tattooist who tattoos pregnant women

Hannahandbaby then you are lucky... I'm a pediatric nurse and you'd be shocked what is not common knowledge to all people. Some days I can't even believe what people ask me

They make you sign a waiver saying you aren't inroxicated, don't have communicable diseases, and that you're not pregnant. So, the answer is, they won't tattoo you. It's for your baby's and your own safety. Just wait until after baby is born, I know it's hard, but worth it.

I'm 15 and a first time mom I'm pretty sure it is common sense that you should not get a tattoo while pregnant.. no offense.

It has occurred to me that it actually isn't common knowledge that pregnant women can't get tattoos. Be nice, people. Some first time moms, especially young ones, really don't know things like this.

Absolutely no tattoos while pregnant.  Plus any licensed, good tattoo artist will not do it. It Would be very stupid.

Not only do u risk that family FOREVER losing their means of income, or forever being banned from their passion for life  if you violate practice procedures and lie that ur not pregnant, u also risk an endorphin release that CAN cause miscarriage, also serious infection as your body will more than likely reject the ink and see it as a foreign object. But ur an adult. Make your own choice.

Why risk it just wait after delivery

There are several concerns about tattoos, so it's probably best to wait until after delivery to get one. Here are some things to consider:

Hepatitis B, a dangerous liver infection, and HIV/AIDS are two of many diseases that can be passed along through bodily fluids. This means you can catch these diseases if you get a tattoo from someone who uses a dirty needle. And it's possible for you to pass these diseases along to your baby while you're pregnant.

We don't know how tattoo dyes and inks affect a developing baby. Small amounts of chemicals that might be harmless to an adult can have a much bigger impact on a tiny fetus.

You really shouldn't get tattoos while pregnant.. any decent tattoo artist won't even tattoo you while pregnant.. you could get an infection and it could really harm your baby..
