Traveling 19 hours at 37 weeks pregnant

Hey ladies. On friday, I'll be 37+1. My Boyfriend has found a job that is in Bozeman Montana and we currently live in Texas. I can't fly because of how far along i am, so we will be traveling by car. I just want to know what you ladies think the safest way to travel will be. Like, how often should we take breaks and walk around, etc. I'm not looking for anyone to tell me not to travel this late into my pregnancy. I know it's risky, I have no choice.

All you have to do is call and request medical records. Once you have found your doctor on the new state have your old doctor fax all the info.

I would call the doctor and ask for a recommendation to transfer your stuff to.  They can quickly see what doctors use your insurance - doctor to doctor referral has worked well for me in a couple instances.

Then,  call the referral doctor and make an appointment to be seen in the first couple days you are there.

I actually have not sent medical records or even transferred my insurance as this is all on such short notice.. do you know what the best and quickest way to do all of that would be? My doctor also scheduled me for an appt at 38 weeks even though my last one was at 35 weeks.. i thought that by this time I was supposed to be getting weekly visits.. but i will be getting in contact with my doctor before we leave  so I can talk with her about these things as well. Thank you all for your input

My doctor told me once I get to 20 weeks and farther if I'm traveling in the car a long time I should stop every hour and stretch my legs walk around for at least 5 mins. Something to do with the vanes in your legs

With an attitude like that,  I think car travel will be fine for you.  If you can lean back in the seat and get the pressure off your legs that might be good.

Have you found a birthing facility or doctor in Bozeman,  and had your medical records sent there?  You'll also want to travel with medical records for the sort of likely possibility you go into labor somewhere along the way.

Best wishes with the move - Montana is beautiful!

I am 31 weeks and will be traveling for the 4th time during my pregnancy. I took a 8 hour drive from Arizona and new mexico. The only thing that botherd  me was going to go pee. My knees did not hurt whatsoever by car only by plane. My gynecologist recommended me to walk every hour to two hours by car to get your blood flowing.

Oh man.. Seriously stop at least every hour to walk around and pee. And snack every other break or you'll get car sick.  Don't eat while riding.
I had to take a trip like this (only 8 hours round trip)
And it was dreadful. I got so car sick! Ugh.
Bring pillows and stuff for your legs and to snuggle.
