Pregnancy care

What care can a woman follow when she is pregnant and suffers bodily injury bad enough she needs to be taken to the hospital? Can the lives of the baby, woman, or both be saved?

Depends on how far along the pregnancy is too - there was that story a few years ago about the woman that went skydiving - shute didn't open, she survived and at the hospital, came to find out she was pregnant and the baby was fine.

There are several scenarios and answers.  I was involved in a little fender bender not too long ago and went to Labor & Delivery because I couldn't feel my baby moving...but when I got there he must have been sleeping because he was fine.  I was told by my OB that in first and second trimesters, the mother would have to sustain life threatening injuries for the baby to be injured because the baby is well protected.  It's not until the third trimester where the baby begins getting bigger and the space is smaller that other things would be involved in harming the baby.

Well your question is really vague, and a lot of the answer would depend greatly on what kind of injury and how far along the baby is etc.  Or if the injury has anything involving the woman not breathing etc.  But there are a lot of injuries where a woman could be taken to the hospital for and both her and baby would be fine.  Not sure exactly where you are going with this one....
