I came here to let you know my secret - I'm 16 weeks and I throw up almost every day, all day. On days my husband is working and I'm at home alone I am pretty much useless. Cannot do anything so I just lie in bed with a trash can next to me being pathetic.
Sorry, long story short, I found that vanilla milkshakes (NOT from Dairy Queen) completely sooth my stomach. I literally could be ready to throw up and I sip on a vanilla milkshake instead and it just calms it down. It doesn't always work, but it works 100% more than gatorades and perriers, etc for me!! Hope you feel better soon... No one ever told me how awful pregnancy could be! I'm still waiting for this "burst of energy" and "second honeymoon phase" everyone promised would happen in the second trimester.....the only glow I have is the after throw up sweaty forehead and crying eyes glow. :P
You might want to try Canada Dry ginger ale. It's one of the few brands made with real ginger, a natural anti-nausea agent, plus the carbonation helps. I pretty much lived on the stuff my first couple weeks.
Other natural anti-nausea/anti-gas remedies safe for pregnancy include peppermint tea or candies, fresh ginger grated into hot water or ginger candy, or anything with lemon -- tea, drops, hot lemonade, etc.
Also -- if you can't keep water or food down, focus on drinking something with a few calories and electrolytes (Gatorade, Powerade, soup broth). Sometimes the only thing that works is a carbonated beverage -- sparkling water, ginger ale, Sprite etc. can all help settle your stomach if you're throwing up flat fluids.
I had the bile spitting thing for about 3 days in early pregnancy. No idea why and thank goodness in my case it went away on its own. If you have a bad fever, signs of dehydration, or it lasts more than a couple days, call the doc and make sure it's not anything serious.
Some women get hyperemisis while pregnant I was one of them I threw up almost my whole nine months whit my 2nd child. You should go get checked to make sure ur not dehydrated since u can't keep water down and I also recommend zofran it helped me keep somethings down.
I had the same problem.. I am now 17 weeks 5 days and Im still sick as a dog! My doctor prescribed me zofran which usually helps! The only thing i could actually keep down were milkshakes.... and my dr also said if u cant keep liquid down freeze juice or gatorade in ice cube trays then put it in a baggie crush it and eat the crushed cubes. Hope that helps, i never got around to trying it
Oh and ask your Dr about it. Mine prescribed me with something I forget what it was called lol. But it helped me keep my food down.
Yeah I had the same thing in my early pregnancy. U just have to make sure u keep something on your stomach n make sure you're drinking a lot of fluid so u don't get dehydrated from vomiting so much. But I know how u feel I would get sick up to 10 times a day. I'm 23 weeks now n its gotten better. I hope this helped out a little though!
