My checks be very uncomfortable w/ slight cramping in my vaginal area after , everyone's different tho ! Don't be scared
Im only scared because i dont even like fingers up there.it feels weirddddd
They checked mine yesterday, I'm only 21 weeks, making sure everything looked ok, they did a pap smear at the same time, i have a kidney infection, uti, and yeast infection, so for me it hurt like a son of a B** my downstairs is swollen do when they put the my plastic thing inside me to open my downstairs up it hurt so bad, but BC your not sick, swollen or have an infection i think you'll be perfectly fine, there's nothing irritating it to make it hurt. It feels the same as a pelvic exam or pap smear which I'm sure they have done before during you're pregnancy:) youll do just fine!!:)
Lol couple more weeks a baby will be coming out of there lmbo !
I hateeee pap smearss.and yaa im supposed to have my son in 2weeks o.o
I got mine checked it was very uncomfortable. I kept tensing up.
I dont really think they are painful or anything like that just alittle pressure nothing to serious once its done you'll be like was I really worried about that lol but goodluck! Everyone is different
The same plastic thing they use to open u for pap smear is what they use to check the cervix
I'm 35w and had mine checked today after they did a Group B Strep swab.
I'm fingertip dilated and 50% effaced.
It doesn't hurt. Its mainly uncomfortable. Spotting and cramping afterwards is normal.
@babyberry000 they use that on you ? My doc checks with his hands 0.o
The pelvic exam is done with fingers, pap smear they use a small plastic thing to open the vagina it's very small
@babyberry000 I was asking if they used the plastic thing every time you get checked for dialation && effacment
I've only been checked once, I'm only 21 weeks. I'm not sure if they will do it again next time. Hopefully not lol
Oh lol thought my doc wasn't doing something right , he was gon hear a mouth full lol
Really the best thing to do is relax and take deep breaths. Its uncomfortable, and I had cramping and spotting which is normal. The worst things for me was the speculum to stretch me open and that thingy they use on your cervix that looks like a comb.
Theyve used it every pap smear so far, my next appointment is on the 22, i can tell you then if they use it again?
That's what it's called!!.speculum, mine was plastic!! That's what my dr used, how does your Dr do it by hand alone? I don't understand that
It hurt me but my pain threshold is very low. Youll be ok, dont be scared. The process aint long.
I haven't been checked for this pregrancy, but for my first born they did. Yes it's very uncomfortable n hurts more than the early stage labor pains. Lol, i also spotted every time i got exammed
Ahh:/ Well thanx guys.Im a bigg baby and alwayssss em alone at exams.hmm illl just ask a nurse to hold my hand
To me I hate getting checked . Cause it's uncomfortable and I always have a nurse or doc that has big fingers so it hurts more . Plus I hate it cause I've been have strong contractions that would normally dilate someone . But mine won't cause my cervix is to high up . And I keep telling my docs that , but you know they don't listen -.- I had the same problem with my last pregnancy . And I was barley a finger tip before being induced at 40+4 with him and still didn't even dilate with those inducement contractions . And trust me , there strong and painful to . Then it took a lot just for my water to break and after it broke I only dilate to 3.5 finally and stopped .
Im 33+4 and 2cm already so I get checked everytime I go in now...If you put the heels of your feet together and relax your legs all the way it help relieve the pressure a whole bunch cause all the doctor is using is two fingers to check you but when you tense up its makes it feel worser
I was checked yesterday (38 weeks) and was really not prepared for how uncomfortable / painful it would be! Maybe I am just being a baby too but it was painful and then I had cramps for hours afterwards. I am really dreading having to be checked again. I guess the best thing to do is try to let your body totally relax
Its a little uncomfortable but its quick, nothing to be scared off :)
