Missed AB & Failed D&C

At 9 weeks, I found out I miscarried at 7 1/2 weeks. At 10 weeks, I went in for a D&C to end the miscarriage as my body had not naturally aborted. Today 5 1/2 weeks after the D&C, we went in for  ultrasound for what we thought to be another pregnancy, but discovered that the D&C failed (fetal sac was still completely intact), and I am still carring the original miscarriage. I am now roughtly 8 weeks past the misscarriage, had a D&C and have still not naturally aborted the fetus. There has been absolutely no growth, no fetal heartbeat and no chance I could be 7 1/2 weeks pregnant again with a second miscarriage. Has this happened to anyone else? My doctors have never seen this before and are completely stumped. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what I should be asking my doctor?

Are they going to schedule a "2nd" D&C?  I would get a 2nd opinion and make sure this is not a new pregnancy.  Wow, this most be awful for you.  Did they redo your bloodwork to see if the levels match what's suppose to be a 7 1/2 week miscarriage or if the levels are low and rising indicating a new pregnancy?  You may want to have them do that just to verify they're not aborting a NEW HEALTHY pregnancy.  Best of luck.  Please keep us updated!

Could i ask,how do they know it was the original  mc...is it not possible its a new pregnancy but in the early,stages.think i would question this,seem as though they failed you before..

Well I would ask them how that happens.  Don't they make sure all is well and complete before releasing you?  I had a D&C and I never thought to ask something like that - it went well.   Keep us posted, this is definately out of the ordinary.  My thoughts are with you.
