gee you read my mind, I will be 10 weeks even jan 15th when i have my second u/s. I'm worried about this pgcy though, i feel like there wont be a heart beat when i go in. I did have my first ultrasound at 6 weeks 3 days and there was a heart beat but was very faint yet, the lady did it vag. so i'm wondering what to exepct at 10 weeks.
It does also consider how far you are. Around 12 weeks they stop doing vaginal ultrasounds. I have had both. Vaginal at 6 weeks and 8 weeks but did get to see the baby through abdominal at 7 weeks, 10 weeks and 12 weeks. It really depends on a few things and what is easier, most of the time, they will try both.
I dont care what type of u/s they do. I just dont want to get worried If they say "they need to get better look" I just didnt know if a abd. one would be good to see everything at this time.
i had one at 7 weeks and we could see the baby with both vag and adom..with the vag ultrasound it looks like a sex toy and i just felt a little violated like maybe we shoulda had a first date or something lol...good luck to you though!! You should be fine!!
I had an ultrasound at 8 wks 2 days...we saw the baby and heartbeat via abdominal u/s. I'm overweight too. IF for some reason the want to do the vaginal first just request they try abdominal. It really also depends on the doc...some prefer one over the other.
We were able to see the baby at 8wks 1day with an abdominal u/s. I am on the thinner side I guess, but still have some meat on me! lol. I guess it just depends! They may still want to do a vag. if you are overweight, but ya never know. Let us know how is goes! <3
Thanks. I was thinking of that too, I am over weight.....
I think it really depends on your weight, the location of the baby, etc... We were able to see our baby with an abdominal at 10wks 3 days. But I wouldn't panic if they aren't able to, it's still early. I know how easy it is to worry, I have a previous m/c too, but I'm sure your little one is just fine.
When I had an u/s at 10 weeks and 3 days she said that we wouldn't really be able to see the baby with the ab. so she did a vag. Good luck and try not to worry about anything :-)
