It seems so did in USA to England.  I had my first docs app at 4 weeks no scan didn't even do pee test. Had midwife at 9 weeks still no scan or feel around or hearing for heart beat and have still got to wait another 3 weeks for my scan at 13 weeks! Driving me crazy just want to hear my baby's heart beat and see my baby face on that screen. Especially as I have twins in my family and I'm anxious to find out if I'm having two as I have a bump already at 10 weeks :) !!

Sorry for essay lol!

Most places the most you get is 3 ultrasounds and sometimes you are lucky to get that many.

my hospital scans everyone at each visit. Not just those who have "complications on first ultrasound" as mariemichelle put it.
I had scans at 5weeks 7weeks 12weeks etc... basically every five weeks you see doc and have a scan here. The scans just on a normal small scanning machine - big scans in the department on the tvs are dating scan, anatomy scan , measurement and positing scans etc.

I found out gender at 12week/dating scan.

I've had a load of scans because thats whats done here -
Only "special" scan I had was fetal echo -

I'm sorry for the essay but I hate how people think there has to be something wrong with a ladies baby just because they are scanned regularly.
It hurts my feelings knowing I'm scanned every app.
And I'm sure it frightens ftm in countries where they scan regularly.

The earliest is 16 weeks so Yes , you can find out at 17 weeks :)
It's more accurate at 20 weeks but you can still find out at 17 weeks .

In most offices , You're not ganna get an ultrasound every visit you go .
Only if there was complications seen on your first ultrasound but other than that your next one will probably be your anatomy/gender scan . It all depends on your dr. & how the clinic works .

Prob not if they already did the one to figure out your due date. Your next one prob won't be till 20 weeks.
