umbilical cord question!

So I just read something that said you can't dress your baby in onesies until the cord falls off. Is this true? Because I only have newborn onesies. What other restrictions are there? I know you aren't supposed to get them wet, but anything else?

Our daughter wore onesies and it was fine. If you're really concerned you can put a bandaid over it to keep it from moving.

I noticed that with my first his diaper was actually tall enough to cover the cord so the onsies were fine. The only rule I know of regarding the cord is they can only have sponge baths until the nub falls off

I put my baby is onsies and it was fine. I wouldn't put them on if they are super tight though.

You could just dress then in sleepers...they fit more loosely.

I heard something like that bc apparently the clothes will rub against it and can pull it off. what i always done was wrap a bandana around the baby to cover the umbilical cord to prevent rubbbing.
