My sons was that high for almost the whole first trimester. I'm sorry I can't think of the name (prego brain) but it will slow way down once they form their system that controls blood circulation.
Depends on how many weeks you are. Here's a good site. http://www.buzzle.com/articles/normal-fetal-heart-rate-chart.html
Thanks for the comments ladies it makes me feel better. My doctor was not worried she said that everything looks great. My ultra sound lady said that 180 is the high norm. I take sythroid because my thyroid is under working. So they are checking to see if I need a higher does. I was nervous to of course. We will see in 4 weeks what the next one is!! Happy 9 months to all
Are you taking thyroid replacement medication? That can cause higher heart rates in adults and I would assume that it could cause a fetal heart rate to be high also.
However, that heart rate isn't too high, it is on the high side but If the doctor is not worried then I wouldn't be either. I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and his heart rate was in the 180s. My doctor told me that early fetal heart tones are higher then later term babies.
I'm 15 weeks, and everytime I've had the baby's heartbeat checked it is usually in the 150s-160s, but at my 15 week ultrasound it was 191. I'm hoping it was just because I was excited to find out that IT is actually a HE :)
My babes is always around 150. What is considered normal?? :s and does it get faster or slower the farther along you get??
My babies heart beat was 191 last time. I was wondering the same thing.
