Am I having an ectopic or miscarriage???

My last LMP was 1/25.  I am 5 weeks 5 days pregnant, my Hcg level have only been 30 (2/28), 60 (3/2)  and 95 (3/4).   My concern is whether I will miscarry or  I am having an ectopic pregnancy.  I have read that low hcg levels can be an indication of ectopic.  I have also read that hcg levels need to be >1500 to see anything on ultrasound.  My PCP's office keeps ordering more Hcg levels.  Why are the levels soooo extremely low??????  Obviously, this pregnancy will not carry to term, but how aggressive should I be in requesting an ultrasound?  I just don't want to loose my tube too!   Thanks for the support.

It was ectopic.  I was given an injection of methotrexate and was advised to wait another 6 months )after my hcg is back to 0) before trying again.  Thank you all for your concern.

Well I just had a miscarriage a few weeks ago and you really need to voice your concern. I would let them know your very worried and it would make you feel better if they would just do an ultra sound to rule things out. I was in the same boat as you are now and I had to speak up so they would listen to me.

It's okay to take control of things. Lot's of times they don't do anything until the patient is yelling and screaming you know. Good luck and let us know how everything turns out.

I'm so sorry you are going through this.  I think your right about not being able to see anything on ultrasound.  Maybe you could get a second opinion.
