waiting period for conception after laproscopy

Hi. I was having polyp in uterus and to remove it my laparoscopy was done on 15jan 2012. i  want to know how long should i wait before trying to get pregnant.  and after surgery my tummy became fatty. so when can i start for abs exercise. Pls guide me. Thank u.

Thank u. yes i have 2 incisions on the abdomen. one on umbelical region and other is on left lower abdomen. my surgeon told me to wait for 3 months and it will be complete on this 15th april. I feel completely fine. There is no pain or no discomfort or anything, but somehow i feel 3 months are not enough. but my husband dont want to wait for more. so what do u suggest should we start trying or wait for some time??

Hi, you are welcome. There is no restriction for getting pregnant after Laproscopy. If there was an incision involving the uterus a waiting period of 6-12 months may be advised.   If there is an incision on the abdomen then it is better for you to wait for at least 6 months before you start abs exercise. If no abdominal scar then as soon as you feel comfortable. You must discuss these issues with your surgeon as he knows all the details. Take care
