weekly ultrasounds

Im 30w4d and my doctor has me going for weekly ultrasounds. That does seem normal and none of family or friends understand it ether.  They said the baby was at a health weight.amd length.  They did say i have mild hypertension but i still wouldnt see why that would cause me to have weekly ultrasounds

Hi. I actually graduated from ultrasound school about a year ago and I'm 5weeks 2days. I haven't had My ultrasound yet but I can tell u this based on My certification. The closer you are to delivery is the time Where your baby grows the most in a short period of time. The doctor wants to make sure your baby doesn't have any malfunctions or birth defects. Plus he is checking amnio fluid. Heartbeat. Spine for spina bifida. It's countless things. Plus a dirty secret is if your insurance only covers x amount of ultrasounds then that's what your allowed unless a defect is noted. Don't worry. Your ultrasounds are standard precaution.

No clue it seems kind of odd to me if there is nothing wrong that they have to monitor. Im 34w3d and haven't had an ultrasound since 28 weeks and haven't been notified of getting anymore so far. I start weekly visits next Thursday so no clue, but it really is the doctors preference.

At 30 weeks I started having them every two weeks because they want to monitor weight of baby. There are many reasons they do them so often.

I'm not sure Hun. I'm 29wks3days and my doc has me now going every 2weeks as of Wednesday. Maybe it just all depends on the doctor?

I think they just do that once you get close to the end. Im only 21 weeks and 4 days but my doctor is scheduling to see my every two weeks now until i get really close then itll be every week like you :) i wouldnt worry or stress about it. Doctors just like to make sure everything is going ok with you and bub so if anything does come up their chances of catching it sooner would be better because theyre seeing you more often :)
