With this pregnancy the Dr did ultrasounds every appt to watch my baby's growth. He grew fine, I lost 10 lbs, now he's measuring my belly to watch it. (which is decidedly bigger but I'm only 4 lbs more) Weight in pregnancy is like weight in life, it's a good indicator of health and growth but it's not the deciding factor. If your Dr's worried about it maybe ask them if they would like to check by doing an ultrasound.
My mother in law lost 16 pounds while pregnant with my husband little sister. She never gained any weight & had a baby weighing in at 8lbs 7oz.
Your doctor lied to you. My sister gained 10 pounds the whole time she was pregnant (she was a little heavy). As long as you're eating right and eating enough then your baby will grow. You don't have to gain 35 pounds to have a healthy pregnancy.
If you eat then its fine for your baby all he needs is nutrients and even if you were not to eat he will still get what he needs from your body. Thats why its always good to drink vitamins. Your baby will be fine he should be weighing around 1 pound or a little less.
Thats not necessarily true.... I lost ten pounds in my first trimester and am perfectly fine. I'm 27wks now and have just barely gained the ten back. Heck my mom lost 40lb throughout her pregnancy with me and I came out fine :)
