weight gain

My weight gain is classified as excessive.  I am 25 weeks pregnant and I have gained 16 lbs so far. Any advice on ways to lower the weight gain to a healthy level? What do you guys do?

Are you drinking at least 64oz of water daily?
What helps for me is before i eat a meal i drink a glass of water
During the meal i also drink water
(Cut out any unhealthy/sugery drinks.)
If i feel like something other then water i drink 100% fruit juice. You kind of have to keep an eye on it because a lot of juice arent 100% -_-
Also eating a small portion and waiting an hour to see if your still hungry (if so then get another plate!)
In order to lose weight we must burn more calories then we consume. Im not saying starve yourself  but it is important to keep up with how many calories is in something vs how many calories you plan to burn off.
In the end. Lol i didnt follow a complete regime. But i managed to keep my weight gain at about 25 lbs my whole pregnancy but my goal was 15 lbs. :/ just try your best!

My doctor wants me to lower the weight gain,  but in the same breath,  she said as long as im trying.  She only wants me to gain 25 lbs because I was 200 lbs at the get go. Just don't kno what to do. I have been told to give into cravings,  but try to eat healthy. I have been trying to put more healthy food in my diet and been trying to walk a little more and have been swimming.

Is your dr concerned? I'm 22wks and gained 13lbs in the first 15wks due to bad fluid retention and bloat and then haven't gained anything for the last 7wks. My dr isn't concerned at all because I'm already on a low-fat diet for my complications so he knows I'm eating a balanced diet. Whereas this app and the hospital are saying my weight gain is excessive and I shouldn't put on more then 20lbs my whole pregnancy because I was 198lbs to start with. At the end of the day I'm going with what my dr says.
