Counting weeks in pregnancy

I just want to say that ignorance is bliss. Before pregnancy I was so oblivious to things. I would have thought that during pregnancy there was 4 weeks in a month but clearly its not. It amazes me that 4x10 is 40 but a full term baby is 40 weeks at 9 months. I googled it the other day because someone was on here saying "Im 27 weeks, how many months am I"? Im thinking, 27 weeks is clearly 6months3 weeks, duhhh.  Why didnt she just divide 4 into 27, so I googled it and sure enough 27 weeks is 7 months.Im so silly for thinking I know everything.

       Your First Trimester:
1st Month = Weeks 1,2,3,4  
2nd Month = Weeks 5,6,7,8  
3rd Month = Weeks 9,10,11,12,13
Your Second Trimester:
4th Month = Wks 14,15,16,17
5th Month = Wks 18,19,20,21
6th Month = Wks 22,23,24,25,26
        Your Third Trimester:
7th Month = Wks 27,28,29,30
8th Month = Wks 31,32,33,34,35
9th Month = Wks 36,37,38,39,40

4 weeks is only 28 days, there are more than 28 days in each month, therefore there are more than 4 weeks in a month.

Just depends on how they're calculating it. A calendar has 30-31 days, so if you only use that it won't be the same as someone who is counting weeks using a 4 week intervel. In the end it all translates to the same amount of time.

I just divide by 4, less confusing to me and makes more sense in my opinion lol. but that's just me.

Well when I hear 27 weeks I hear 6mo. 3 wks  I'm confused on how it would be 7mo.

@cyncyn no ones judging you huuny. It can be quite confusing. trust me, Im still a little confused but like I said I reference back to my pregnany chart. You can google it too if u are confused. But what exactly are u confused about?

Yup, you're pregnant for 9 calendar months or 10 months with 4 week intervals. It's great how they do it.

Yea I understand that. I took a screenshot of the weeks and how they go, sovi have something to refer back to every now and then.

Lol...it confuses me also! But im just gonna keep counting by 4's because if not I will def. Overthink it!
