Help please!

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and have been smoking since i was about 15, I am 20 now. Anyone have any advice on the best way to quite smoking when you are pregnant? I've cut down to atleast half of what I was smoking before just because it makes me nauseous but the nicotine withdrawl always gets me.

Also another question completely not related to the smoking one.
I was feeling cramps for about 3-4 days during my 6th week and recently they have subsided? I know the cramps are normal as long as there is no blood, which there wasnt. But is it an ok sign that they have stopped? This is my first pregnancy and i think I'm overly worried about everything. I just want to make sure that its perfectly normal for the cramps to come and go. They were never severe just uncomfortable. I'm trying to keep my stress level down but its harder then I thought it would be. So any advice you guys think i could use, i would be ever grateful.

thanks katsmommy
I've already cut down from about a pack a day to half of one a day, and thats since i found out i was pregnant about a week and a half ago. Im now keeping track of how much i smoke a day by only leaving so many in the pack and making sure they last me all day. I plan on just taking one away every day or every other day so that eventually im not smoking at all. Yeah my best friend told me the same thing, that its even harder when your bigger because its harder to breath. Id like to  me smoke free by the time 10 weeks rolls around but we'll see, i have an 18 month old step son that Im becoming the legal guardian for (biological mother signed all her rights over to my husband when he was 6 months old when she left them) and its hard  to quite with a crazy almost 2 year old running around the house.

And the cramps are back today but no blood.
Im trying not to worry but its hard especially since this is my first pregnancy.

hi well congrats on the pregnancy, well first on the smoking, like you i have been smoking since i was 13 i am currently 25 and also pregnant 7 weeks lol,and like heather said her sister's doctor said to wean yourself off is right, with my daughter i actually smoked i think about 8 cigs a day and then close to the end less cause i couldent breath, now at 7 weeks i am smoking about the same maybe more, and girl it is hard cause i know i shouldent smoke at all and because of a recent m/c i worry alot but it is really hard quitting but my daughter was 8lbs thank god, and as far as the cramping i have the same thing going on one day i cramp like pms and then the next i forget im even pregnant,i think they say it is growing pains where you are stretching and all so it is completley normal as long as there is no blood, but good luck with everything.

Haha thanks Heather
Yeah I have mostly just been nauseous only getting sick a few times. I'm tired allll the time and with an 18 month old its even more tiring lol.Slight cramps and mild back pain.  I think part of my stress is my mother is out of town and i can't rant and rave at her and ask her a billion questions haha. I think she comes back today so maybe i won't be as stressed anymore!

Yeah I'm trying to stay off google as much as possible, its hard though! I know the u/s isnt far away now but the hours tick by like days in my mind at this point. I'm combination of over excited and over worried haha.

It's completley normal to worry it starts the second you find out you are pregnant until they are 18+....lol.
Some women don't have symtoms at all.  I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and I found out when I was 4 weeks.  By 6 weeks I felt sick, but never threw up just felt sick all day and wished I would throw up to feel better.  My boobs hurt tons by 8 weeks and I was just very tired.  Never really had morning sickness, and by 10 weeks my symptoms were gone all together.  Every women is different, some handle the hormone increases so well they don't ever feel pregnant until they are farther along.  Others bodies cannot handle it and they are sick the whole time.
Try to stay calm until your ultrasound you don't have too much longer, and try to stay off google you will stress yourself out more (I should take my own advice haha)

I think I'm just overly worried, earlier i found myself in a bit of a stress out because i wasnt as tired as normal or as nauseous, i know its ridiculous haha. I'm just worried, but trying not to worry to much. I'm not even 2 months yet and i'm already stressing about every little thing. I just keep praying that everything goes alright and the baby is healthy, I have my first ultra sound june 3rd and I can't wait. I think once i see the ultra sound I'll be able to relax a little bit.

I have never been a smoker I have no idea what it is like to go through nicotine withdrawls ... so no judgement.
My sister was a heavy smoker when she found out that she was pregnant, and she told me her doc recommended to ween herself off of the cigarettes because the withdrawls can be stressful on the body/baby.  So, she cut down to a couple a day then took one away each day until she only took a puff a day.  I think it took her a couple of weeks.  Again, this is just what I have heard so you should ask your doctor.
As far as the cramps it is normal to have all sorts of twinges, cramps, sensations in your stomach while you are pregnant.  It happens from day one until then end.  No point in worrying unless it is accompained by the other things you mentioned.  :)
