went into premature labour last night

Yesterday I'd been getting on and off Braxton hicks that were quite painful, they got worse at night so I tried to sleep thinking that if they were Braxton hicks they'd go away. I woke up during the night with some really sore contractions that were every 15 minutes and lasting 63 seconds each. I phoned the baby's dad and we rushed to hospital where I was told that I was in preterm labour, they checked my cervix and thankfully I was only dilated 1cm so they were able to stop labour and I didn't need a shot do  baby's lungs as I wasn't progressed enough. I'm so grateful to the staff at the hospital for supporting me through the process and making sure I got the best help, I've never been so scared in my life! I'm only 28 weeks so it was a real shock and I'm so glad  my little baby gets to cook for a little longer! I've been advised bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy but unfortunately I can't as I have a 19 month old to look after and a house to run so instead I'm going to try and stay off my feet as much as possible and relax. I thought I'd share my story with you so that you're aware of the fact that Braxton hicks ans contractions can sometimes feel really similar and it  hard to distinguish whether they're real contractions or Braxton hicks. I feel so lucky to still have my little one inside of me right now! So beware ladies if something doesn't feel right or if tour worried in any way then it's better to get checked out instead of leaving it! I'm lucky that my contractions weren't strong enough to dilate me any further than 1cm but please get checked if your worried about anything!

I went into early labor last week on Tuesday night.. I had just had sex with my bf n no more than 5 mins after we were done I started contracting every 2mins for an hour so we went to the hospital. I was 33+2.. I started to dilate about an hour after being there n so they had to give me shots to stop the labor.

But unlike this womans experience.. These were nothing compared to braxton hicks. They were MUCH worse for me lol. They actually had me in tears :/ But all is okae now. I am now 34+4(: 38 days to go!(:

Thanks everyone me and baby are doing fine, I've got an ultrasound tomorrow morning to check on baby's growth etc, I'm just glad she's still in my belly! Will continue with the relaxation and staying off my feet as much as possible. Not had any pains or Braxton hicks today so I'm guessing that should be a good sign! Hopefully the rest of this pregnancy goes smoothly and I can keep my little one in there for as long as possible! Going to get everything ready for her in the next few weeks incase she does make a surprise appearance because so far I don't have much for her but praying that she stays in there until full term!

I had to get a shot to stop contractions at 32 weeks. The nurse said I was a finger tip dialated.  Luckily I managed to hang in there and give birth at 38+3.
Good luck mama! Think positive!
