Unfortunately you can't prevent it. Just like keiper said, it deals with your placenta and how it wants to process sugar. Eat all the fruit you want because you can't prevent it. :)

I eat sweets kinda alot actually n diabetes runs iny family but nope! No gestational or regular diabetes here...as long as ur body produces enough insulin to eat up the sugar its fine.

You  can find carb smart ice cream bars. They are pretty good. I eat dare pleasure cookies too. They are a couple things I can eat on my gd diet.

It's a hormone in the placenta which causes your sugars to run high. And yes, it us controlled by diet
