what does a contraction feel like?

I know I've been having them because I had one at my anatomy ultrasound but I don't know what they feel like. I have random pains in my stomach from time to time, but I feel like contractions have distinct symptoms.

Really those are pre-labor contractions. Real contractions dont feel like a period cramp or a poo that you need to push. They feel like the aftermath of a punch to the gut that shoots down to your crotch and legs and makes you say oh snap then youre confused bc youre happy youre feeling all the pain bc your body realizes its about to push a baby out. Its indescribable bc its not something we are meant to understand. If we could be prepared for it, it wouldnt be a part of motherhood.
