I only compared it to pepsi because i like pepsi the most but i like coke to so i might switch over to coke now that i know its a little better than pepsi. Thank you all soo much:)
i see. Ive tried googling it but its like all the answers change or i just couldnt find any straight answers or answers that made since to me.
Ive been worried about getting it, i have take the test for it in about 2 weeks and i am kinda nervous, i dont have any risks for it tho.
no i never did with both of my pregnancies.
Nothing you do causes you to get gestational diabetes. It's something you either get or you don't, and it goes away after pregnancy.
Oh ok. So then how do you get it?
You don't get gd from consuming a lot of sugar ( same with type.2 diabetes) it's a pancreas problem. You can avoid sugar like the devil and still get gd.
Hansen did you ever get gestational diebities due to alot of sugar? Thats what im worried about is getting that.
sprite because its caffine free
I've given up coke during my pregnancy but when I do drink coke I get sprite. I find that it doesn't get me as bloated.
i know that doctors dont like pregnant women dirnk alot of caffeine but i did with my son and daughter and they are just fine, i had coffee, soda and alot of sugary stuff=). and now that im 20w1d i crave pepsi and sprite and lots of sugar and the baby is perfectly healthy=) there is no problems with her. but probable sprite would be better.
Sprite is better than pepsi, and on that note coke is slightly better than pepsi too because it has slightly less sugar.
You can have soda, pretty much ANY type of soda, in moderation. The goal is to keep your "junk sugar" intake as low as possible, and keep your caffeine intake moderate (less than 200mg a day on average depending on your OB - most sodas with caffeine have 20-40mg per 12oz, so do the math to figure out the max number you should drink a day depending on your soda of choice).
The biggest thing with sodas is to just be aware, and avoid diet soda :-).
