what to do about second hand smoke?

So, I'm a little over 11 weeks pregnant with mine and husbands first child. Usually I have miscarriages but after a lot of tests, it finally seems to be happening. Thanksgiving is here, and my entire family lives hours from us. We're staying with my dad and stepmom though, and since we got here Thursday I have had a terrible headache and severe congestion. I've taken everything, Claritin, Benadryl, even the Tylenol 3 my O.B. prescribed, and nothing works. I've been wondering if it's environmental. Neither me or husband smokes, nor do our friends, but my stepmom smokes a half pack a day inside her house. I realize its her house and I can't make the rules, but it's very uncomfortable for me. I've been thinking of just going home early. I was wondering if anyone else had been in a similar situation and how they would or did handle it?

My mom, brother and his boyfriend all smoke and when I went to visit my mom while the boys were there too, I always either went Into another room or they would avoid me and open up all the windows. Juss let her know how you feel and hopefully she'll have a good response to solve the problem.

I would just explain how you are feeling to her and see if she can smoke outside until you leave. Do it lovingly though.
