I'm 23 weeks and am curious how much alcohol you're allowing yourself to drink?

Just because someone asks a question does not mean they intend on doing it! Did some of you judgemental people consider that she was asking out of pure curiosity? Gees some people need to CALM DOWN

Hmm, interesting comments. Thanks for all the answers guys. I have only had 2 small drinks the whole pregnancy, I'm not a drinker and never drank much before I was pregnant anyway so I haven't had to really give up anything, but I don't think I'll even care to drink more for the rest of the pregnancy simply because it doesn't bother me.

Geez some of yall are kinda mean on this app... when someone is curious they ask. Thats what this app is for aint it? At least shes takin the time to ask instead of just goin out assuming she can drink till plastered. :/ cut her some slack... if she was "selfish" she wouldn't be asking.........

I totally agree with baby_girl09 if you cant quit drinking while pregnant you should not be getting pregnant. Its totally selfish.

I'm not judging here, I don't care what anyone says. You not suppose to drink when your pregnant. Stop thinking about yourself, think about the baby. I don't care if someone else baby turn out fine & they drank. If you not ready to give up alcohol during pregnancy, then your not ready to be a mother. I don't care I get attacked for saying this. Being a mother is about sacrificing for your child. There so much children suffering because their mothers didn't want to give up alcohol or drugs. I applaud any woman who gives up drinking or drugs when she found it she was pregnant.

Um,  what I want is in a discussion of how much to drink on MedHelp,  that the answer is clear to lurkers and posters that you shouldn't drink more than 8 drinks a week,  TOPS. Because that's when the baby is harmed.

I don't know why it's so hard to make my message clear to  you.

They say u can drink a glass of red wine... but honestly id rather go 9 months without a drink rather than hurt my kids development. But it is your choice. I just personally dont recommend it

People are "judging" because when a pregnant woman asks how much can she drink,  it's a concern.

Plain and simple.

I've heard you can have some red wine here or there. But don't over do it. I don't get why people are judging about drinking because red wine is good for you if you just have a small glass once in a while

That's why I said I hate to hijack your thread,  Revy.  When discussions on this board come up about how much alcohol is safe during pregnancy,  moms reading it (whether they're posting or not) need to know that 8 drinks a week will cause damage,  even if they think it's minimal.  And there are plenty of references in this thread that think red wine is okay.

Ummm I don't drink wine for one. And who said anything about every night? I've had two drinks my entire pregnancy and don't intend on having more. My baby is very healthy and will be fine. I know you're not saying i am, but I'm not stupid.

Revy,  not to hijack your thread,  but fetal damage starts at 8 drinks a week.  For those who drink a glass or red wine every day,  you are easily over 8 drinks because a glass of wine is 5 oz and usually when you pour one yourself it's over that amount.

People who think they can drink a glass of red every night are damaging their child.

I've only had one or two small drinks, and only once I was into my second trimester because I know its not so much of a risk then. I'm not one to freak out easily, very easy going and I only did because my baby was assured very healthy and on track. I was just curious was others did is all :)

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my second and I have a glass of red wine once every 2 months with family. Aslong as it's an occasional glass of wine your fine. Aslong as your not having a glass every night ( which I liked to do before I got pregnant lol)
