I did wear maternity pants. The reason a person gets stretchmarks is because their skin stretches more than it's used to.
Probably what happened is because your skin was stretched out the first time around, it hasn't reached the point where it can't handle more and therefor hasn't gotten more stretchamarks yet.
Try using some cocoa and shea butter on the stretchmarks and on the places you get them even if you don't have them in those areas yet (belly, butt, thighs and boobs) esp. right now. It'll help aid your skin in stretching more without scarring (that's what stretchmarks are)
I'm not saying it'll prevent stretchmarks because if your gonna get them or get more then your gonna get them or get more.
I only gained 15lbs with my son TJ and I still have a roadmap on my bb's and tummy. I don't have ANY on my legs, or thighs which is funny because I DO have cellulite.
whitneylauren is right- it doesnt have anything to do with clothes, my doctor told me the biggest contributor is genetics and then also gaining weight too fast and not consuming enough water to take on the rapid stretching.
i started getting stretch marks b4 i started wearing maternity pants this time and with my last pregnancy i never wore maternity pants and still got them, maternity pants wouldn't cause you to get stretch marks, its just from your stomach stretching and the elasticity in your stomach and etc.
I wore maternity clothes, including maternity pants.
I did not get any stretchmarks with my daughter. I rubbed my belly twice a day with a 100% pure cocoa butter stick and then massaged/stretched my skin trying to stretch it in advance :)
I hope the same strategy works this time with my twin belly!!!!! I dont think stretch marks have anything to do with elastic in maternity pants.
Stretch marks occur when your skin is stretched too quickly and that causes tearing of the dermis. A persons susceptibility to stretch marks is purely based around weight gain, your skin's elasticity, and genetics. If you gain weight quickly your skin is more likely to develop stretch marks, but if, for example, your mother never got them then you are not likely to get them.
Maternity clothes have nothing to do with stretch marks. Plus, I wouldn't torture myself by trying to stay in regular clothes.... sounds so uncomfortable! ;)
I couldn't fit into maternity jeans and I still got stretch marks. I think its just how much water you drink and the elasticity of your skin which can change over time.
i wore maternity clothes and did not get any strechmarks.. i dont think wearing maternity clothes contribute to stretchmarks. I gained 35lbs at that time. now pregnant again and will be wearing maternity clothes again..!
i had forgot to mention that i was bigger and heavier with my first one then my second one..my son i gained 50 lbs..and then lost it all..then when i got prego with my second i only gained 25 lbs....just so you dont think i got stretch marks with my second cause i got bigger because i didnt......
