My doc told me no sex if the mucus plug comes out with the bloody discharge before 37 weeks because sex induces labor

No you can still have sex, it's only after your waters go that you can't have sex, cause my MW was encouraging me to have sex after I'd lost my plug lol x

Sounds like it, because it's so early it will probably regenerate itself, but you're best to call your Dr / Midwife to let them know, my MW said to me to let her know if it came before 37w x

Stephanie - you can lose it days weeks or hours before labour.   If lost before 37w it can regenerate itself.    Are you sure it was a plug, what did it look like?

Kiya - your mucus plug is, basically, what it says.   Its a jelly like "plug" which seals off your uterus from any infections getting in to your baby.    You generally lose it before labour, although some mums don't notice it passing.   It can be lost in several small pieces like wee white or creamy looking jelly like pieces, or you can lose it in one big gloopy snot-like discharge.    Like I said at the beginning, it can be lost hours days or weeks before labour, and can regenerate itself if it comes away early, therefore is not an indication of how soon labour will come.   If it is lost prior to 37w you should always contact your Dr / Midwife x

It's normal unless you have the "bloody show" after, I'm a FTM and I was so freaked out when I lost mine at 30weeks but the doctor said the mucus plug will grow back over a week or two and replace it's self it can happen serval time but if you have a bloody mess with contractions after you lose it I'd say your baby is on their way!
