when is a safe time to TTC again?

I just recently miscarried (30july) and was wondering when the safest time is to TTC again? My dr told me to wait at least one cycle and I've read online that you should wait up to 3 cycles. I had a natural miscarriage and have heard it can take up to 6 weeks for your first period to come after a miscarriage...if that's so then I get my period and after it ends, that would be 2 months after the miscarriage....wouldn't it be ok to try then??

I to am sorry for your loss! I was told to be careful b/f my first period came b/c concieving could happen quickly, especially if I ovulate without knowing it. I am fertile mertle as they call me b/c I got prego 10 days after quitting BC and I was on it for 6 months. We are looking forward to trying again but are scared at the same time. I dont' know if my body or mind could handle another miscarriage....it was horrible and I was afraid I was dying b/c I didn't think the gushing of blood was ever going to stop!  Good luck to you as well if you are now TTC. First of all I am VERY sorry for your loss! I also miscarried last month, found out when I was 10 weeks that there was no fetal movement and the babys heart rate was non existent. I ended up having to have a D &C because my body was taking to long to recognize that the pregnancy was no longer viable. I just had my post op on monday and the Dr said to be careful about getting pregnant within the next 2 months because there is a higher risk of miscarriage after a miscarriage. Also I was told that it can take 6-8 weeks to get your period after M/C so if you only have one cycle but it took you 8 weeks to get it you should be able to try again after that from what I understand. You shouldnt have a problem depending on how long it took you to get pregnant the first time. You are most fertile three cycles following the miscarriage! I never thought about trying to replace the baby I lost with a new one..I hope I don't do that! We both would like to have another baby though.We are scared to try but anxious to have a baby too. So many emotions!!

if you dr said one cyle wait for the cyle and try again. just dont try to "replace" the one u lost. after my still born at 21 weeks i bleed for the delivery of her then i got my period when i was supposed to. it would all depend on your body not on what u heard
