when to call the hubby?

My hubby works an hour away and during the week stays up there to save gasoline. He works 7 days a week but Saturday and Sunday he drives up there, to spend time with me and our son.  I've been having a lot of braxton hick contractions. I'm only 35wks so I'm in no hurry but I was wondering what you all suggested was a good time to call him so he can be on his way. Like when the real contractions are how far apart.

The hospital is about 30 mins away(from me) maybe 45 with traffic where there's construction during the day. I was hoping that he could take me but if he can't get here in time than at least meet there. My son I was admitted to the hospital at 6am and got my epidural at 10 took a nap woke up to push like 11:30 and my son was born at 12:01 noon.

I'd say anything more than 10-15 minutes apart he should head to you guys. But a lot can also depend on how fast you dialate, how long your last labour was, etc etc. If its short, call really early but if it takes long there wouldn't be quite as much rush.

Is he planning to take you to the hospital or meet you there? Is the hospital close to you? I had to call my doc when they were between 5-7 mins bc I live 45mins away without traffic and up to an hour and a half with traffic. If you live close and he's meeting you there, I'd call him around the 5-7 mark just in case you progressed fast but if he's taking you to the hospital then somewhere around 8-10 so he had time to get to you and can get whatever needs prepared before leaving situated.
