when to go in?

Okay so I feel kind of silly asking this since this is my third pregnancy but when is it time to go to the hospital with contractions?? Both my other kids were early and I went in before contractions were heavy

I was told 3-4 mins spart lasting 45+ second

well this 2nd but with my first my water never broke but I was having contractions on my due date might I add they were 7 min apart but I wasn't sure since my water never broke I was 17 wasn't sure if it was Braxton hicks or whatever by the time  I called my doctor and she told me to come in I know some people say if their contractions are not that close they just send you back home until when they are closer together. but anyways they took me that was like 8 in the morning and I had my son at  like 2 that afternoon, I hope ive helped some,
