checking to see if dilated

30 weeks and I know I still have some time before they check me but does it hurt? What exactly are they doing? Not to mention; how the heck does the membrane sweep work- what do they do for that?
Thanks in advance!

All I have to say is that it was super painful for me, I'm very sensitive there and they really just want to get in and get out as fast as they can lol

They shouldn't force their finger in if it won't go if they do then I'd get a different doctor I go tomorrow to get my cervix checked I've had mine checked three times last week cause of some issues with my.pregnancy my doctor it didn't hurt at all but the nurse at the hospital she hurt bad and I bled  bit but I'm hoping tomorrow I'll at least be dialated a bit

They wouldn't force the issue though would they? Lol like if you aren't open they won't try just to be sure? I had an exam, they pressed on my belly as well when doing it, would that be the same thing?

If they know what their doing it shouldn't hurt to bad it can bleed a bit which is normal and their trying to see if they can get any fingers in your cervix if they can't your not dialated

At your first apt did they give u an internal exam with there hand also? They stuck there gloved fingers up there to feel your cervix to see if its opening. Its more uncomfortable then painful, unless u get someone with really long nails which I have and it pissed me off. Membrane sweep is when they run there finger across up there to help start labor.
