Do it before 35 weeks!! I didn't and I went into labor at 35 weeks 1 day and had to throw it together while I was leaking amniotic fluid everywhere....not the best idea!

Thanks that helps me out a lot. My family has been tell me I should start packing just in case but they weren't telling me what I would need. Most of the time in my family babies are born early but every once in awhile they are late. Thanks

im 37 weeks tomorrow and i still havent packed my hospital bag lol, im a really bad procrastanator(sp?). Ive had the baby bag packed since about 36 weeks.
Im going to start working on my hospital bag tonight, my problem is that i dont have a lot of clothes and the clothes i do have i still wear all the time (my pre-pregnancy clothes still fit me), and so im reluctant to pack any clothes as i dont like doing laundry every day. My ward robe consists of 3 pairs of pants, a pair of shorts and like 5 shirts so thats my excuse for not having my hospital bag ready lol

To ash20096, these are the things im going to pack in my bag. For the baby - Babys going home outfit, scratc mits, hat, blanket,
For you a few changes of clothes its better if you choose loose clothing and comfortable, slippers, thick socks, dressing gown, some night clothes thats easy to feed your baby if you choose to breastfeed, underware, nursing bras, magazines, favourite books, phone charger, camera, lip barm as your lips may get chapped or dry, plenty of change for vending machines or snacks, take snacks for you and your birthing partner. Im going to take a pillow with me as they may not provide enough and its some thing comforting for you to. Take toiletries shower gel shampoo toothbrush/paste sponge face cloth, moisterizer, maternity pads an lots

I'm 38wks and still not finished....I think part of me hopes that being unprepared might mean an earlier delivery than my last two (40+4)!! lol

If you or your family has a history of preterm labour I'd pack sooner. Otherwise you could probably wait till 35 weeks or so. Mine was packed at 33 weeks, but my sister, mom, aunts and grandparents all had a history of preterm labour and I wanted to be prepared. In the end it didn't matter though, because we forgot our bags and he had to go back and get em later.
