Does anybody know what this is or if im now going to be considered high risk!! Anybody have the bleeding on a ultrasound before and still deliver normally?? Im scared that im now going to have to hae a c-section..of course i would so w.e it takes to take care of my baby!! Just wondering so for now stay on bedrest until i see my doc...which i then think he will end me to an o/b??

When I went for my 5 1/2 week u/s there was an empty sac and a small bleed... I was terrified because I had a previous blighted ovum and then a chemical pregnancy... But I went in 2 weeks later and the bleed was gone and I saw my baby and heartbeat!!!

I asked the doctor about it at that first visit and he said it is very common and typically goes away. It is from the implantation breaking blood vessels when burrowing into the uterine wall. Usually this clears up on its own but sometimes can cause some spotting and is nothing to worry about.

If this is what is chances are everything is fine, but you need to clarify with your doc what type of bleed it is.

My thoughts are with you! happy healthy 9 months!

well, i'm not sure if this is the same as my sis, but she had bleeding behind the placenta. They said it was a little tear, but could get bigger if she didnt take it easy. so she was bascially on bedrest from 2 months.
i would say to do the same, she couldnt even be on her feet for 10 mins. but the end resulted in a healthy little girl.
so i wish you much luck, and hopes this help.

hey how you feeling?.. i had spotting at the beginning of both pregnancies and my doc said it was coming from outside the sac but it was the blood left from my period that eventually it was going to go away and it did..so the blood more to brown dark side or bright red? a hematoma is something like blood clot.

I think Joy basically said everything.  If you haven't talked to your doctor you could possibly try calling him and either get ahold of him then or set up a time to talk.

I will def keep you all posted...i just hope everything turns out to be ok.,..no i didnt get a chance to talk to my doc about it yeterday but i will hopefully get to see him tomorrow! So until then i am keeping myself on bedrest and df as well as everyone is being great about it..i just dont want it to end up being placenta previa or something like that! Whats a hematoma.?? Is that the hemmorrage thingy?

Most likely it is being caused by something like a hematoma. Did you get to talk to your doctor after the sonogram? I know the tech can't really tell you much so hopefully if you haven't talked to your doc yet you'll get a chance to speak with them soon to ease your mind.

You might not be considered high risk but I would put myself on bedrest just to be safe. In other words, I would not lift anything over 10 lbs, I would rest in bed or on the couch and only get up to use the restroom and shower until I knew more and how serious the bleed is. Better safe than sorry.

It's great you saw the baby! Your doctor should refer you to an OB and stat since an OB has more experience and knowledge in pregnancy-related issues than a regular doctor would. PLEASE keep us posted!
