will sex enduce labour?

I am 38 weeks + 3 days and I am not trying to start labour! I am actually hoping to go past my due date by a day (I'm crazy , I know most women want to be early lol). Anyways, my bf & I haven't been having sex lately but the last few days I am completely in the mood! I am wondering how well does having sex to start labour work? I am close to my due date, the baby has dropped, but I am not dilated yet (that I know of), and no real contractions just BH ones. What's everyone's opinion, do I risk labour to get lucky or dont chance it?

An orgasm will start contractions and the semen will start thinning put the cervix. You can either have him pull out or shower immediately afterwards (as in order for the semen to do anything you'd have to lay there for about 30 minutes and not let it come out) so just go pee and then shower and wash really well. As far as an orgasm starting contractions drink drink drink WATER! You should be just fine :)

I swear u gals are reading my mind! I am worried I'll go into labour and if we hadn't had sex for 2 months & then have to wait for another month & a half... I'll be sad I missed my opportunity! Lol. I will probably make sure he pulls out tho, if sperm helps dilate lol. Thx!

I don't think it will start labor unless your body is ready. I would say if your in the mood go for it! After you have the baby your not spouse to have sex for 6 weeks and thats really tough, especially if you went without out for a while before, at least in my opinion. It's up to you though

no it dont put you into labor=) but i know TMI but the semen can actually help dilate the cervix but it could take a while or it might not. its only when baby wants to come. most women go over their due date and only like 30% actually really go into labor on their due date. so yes just have some fun while you can and your BF too because you and him wont be able to after the baby is born for another 6 weeks. but having sex can cause contractions too but most likely BH only. but like i said baby will come when baby is ready=) if you have not started to dilate yet then you just might go over your due date but it could even change over night. so its basically a toss up.

I think its fine to do it.. just think you won't be able to have it for 6 weeks after normally :) you won't want to anyways lol. But I think if you don't orgasm chances of starting labor are not as great... I could be totally wrong tho. I would google it but I don't think it should start labor.
