WOW ladies! I am sooooo proud of y'all! I was addicted to narcotics(hydrocodone mainly) for 7 years!I have been clean for almost 3! It takes a lot of courage to get help and I am so glad y'all did that for yourselves and your babies. This post could have a lot of impact on other mommies who could be going through the same struggle but are too ashamed to seek help. It's a long hard road getting clean and staying clean and it also takes a lot of willpower and courage! If I could give y'all great big hugs right now I would! -hugs- -claps- jumping for joy ecstatic- -tears of happiness are seriously coming out right now- Great job ladies!
Thanks girl .I agree 100 %. Ive definitely been on a journey as far as my past goes but this pregnancy has finally made me wake up and see the light.we all are so blessed to have these sweet little angels growing inside of us.Just when I thought my life would never get better, it did!!
hi there September 21! wow its great to see others on this, I honestly thought I was the only one so I would never post and this was my first time posting. I'm so proud of us mommy's, because I'm sure we've all been through hell and back it's absolutely amazing too see how a beautiful blessing could turn our lives around, bc after multiple attempts inthe past it seemed that absolutely NOTHING would give, make me change, stop the viscous cycle. and then this child comes along, and absolutely changed my life and the way I thought within in split second. these babies are truly miracles, blessings from above and I'm so happy to see other ladies like you clean sober and healthy, we will be great moms I'm sure. God bless you & your baby,! congratulations!
Sorry I sent it twice on accident. My doctor is weaning me off I started at 8 mg now im at 4. I told the doctor I wanted to be off before my due date because im scared of the baby having to stay at thehospital with withdrawls. Im so happy i found other girls that are dealing with this.iI thought i was the only one on here
Ive been on suboxone since I was 6 weeks.Im now 22 weeks 3days and my obgyn sent me to a high risk doctor and I get a ultrasound every month plus a drug test.so far everything has been going really good.the baby is growing exactly the way she's suppose to and her heart looks great.the nurse told me she just had a patient on suboxone that had a healthy baby and the baby got to go home with her the next day. Im sure everything will be fine just make sure thats all you take. Congrats and good luck

no problem girl, I'm more than happy too help as well as knowing I'm not the only one lol. but yes I don't think suboxone is really any "better" than subutex, at least what my doctor said she said it wasn't recommended over subutex, both are beneficial. only thing some say is in severe cases the nalaxone could cause baby to have seizures in uterus but I'm pretty sure that's only if u come off the medicine, and withdrawal, which also would happen with subutex as well. yes I already hated the orange taste of Suboxone, but when I started having morning sickness with pregnancy it made it nearly impossible to even touch my tongue. at first my sub doc was hesitant to perscribe the subutex as it can apparently be more abusive but she seen I was doing good making progress and agreed which has helped me alot! as for tapering, I asked both my ob & sub doctors if I should taper, if it would lower chances of my baby having withdraw & they said it has absolutely zero effect, to maintain my regular dose which is 12 mg. they say women on the highest dose went on to have babies with 0 withdraw, while women on lowest had babieswwith slight withdraw, so dose has no role oddly enough.so stay on the dose u feel comfortable thru out, bc although pregnant u don't want to put ur sobriety at risk bc relapse is always a possibility. I've even been told, in pregnancy as ur blood circulation increases, u may feel less of ur dose and some women up it. anyway I hope that answered ur question lol I'll have to remember ur name as it's nice to have someone in same situation. sorry so long! how far r u if u don't mind me asking? I'm 17 weeks 4 days.
I'm on suboxone to and 3 months pregnant
Omg I really felt like I was the only one forever Lol I feel a little better now knowing other people are going threw this thanks girl!!! And Yea my doctor told me it's fine and they never mentioned switching to subutex but maybe I'll ask because i am always nauseous right after I take it and throw up sometimes but I thought that was just from being pregnant. And what about weaning off u shouldn't? And just stay on the entire pregnancy....even if it's such a little amount and you do it the right way and like your doctor tell you because I know when tapering down u don't feel it until the very end when you go from you last amount to absolutely nothing that's the only hard part that people have trouble with but I guess it's.probably not good to try to get off while pregnant Huh? And thanks again !
im glad I've found at least one person on here in the same situation as me! I've been on suboxone since before my pregnancy, first off don't stress yourself honey. I was on suboxone for the first two months, then I asked my doctor to switch me to subutex, they say it's better for the baby bcit don't. have nalaxone in it, but my doctor reasurred me that it's really no difference as she has studied it a bit more. I asked to switch mainlybc i got to the point i couldn't even take suboxone without throwing up and feeling sick bc of the Orange taste. the subutex worked better for me, less side effects & the taste was much easier to handle. as for effects on baby, I had to find a high risk doctor that has delt with patients onthis memedication and he is very reassuring. I was freaking out in the beginning but they told me it's more common than I think & that I will most likely have a healthy normal pregnancy as long as I STAY ON IT thru.out and don't mis use or mix it. do not stop this med bc it can cause serious withdraw and cause miscarriage. I've had no side effects but the only down side is the 50/50 chance of baby having slight withdraw at birth which is majorly devastating but I try not to stress and worry about staying healthy. there are plenty women who went on to have healthy babies with no withdraw. if u have any questions or want to talk just let meknow, ive been wondering if there were any others on here but had yet to hear from any. goodluck girl and may God bless u and ur baby!
No they never said anything to me about switching.
I thought when you got pregnant you had to switch to subutex
