Mucous plug gone?

So if you are dialated and effaced does that mean you already lost your mucous plug? I am 80% effaced and 1cm dialated, but I don't think I've lost my Mucous plug yet.

I never lost mine until sometime during labor after they broke my water.

Idk? She said she never lost hers. It's weird because if you look up pictures some look like snot, and some look like bloody and nasty. I guess it's confusing to know what to look for.

They had to break my water while in hospital bed I had been n labor for hours so I have no idea what it looked like they said not a lot had came out maybe she lost hers when her water broke because I believe that stuff should b watery

It was always snotty looking, but like I said I just assumed that it was a change in discharge or something! I did have a few times where it was stringy, and I thought to myself maybe it was my water leaking. My brother in law said when my sister in laws water broke that it was stringy.

I didn't lose mine completely until right before I was in hard labor. That's after having been at a 3 and 50% for three weeks, and been on pitocin for over 40hrs. So it depends on the person

If it was a lot like stringy mucus then that is like pieces of the plug I'm trying to see if with my first I don't remember seeing the blood in it just kept getting strings of mucus lol so nasty i hated it at the time

I'm 80% effaced and between 1-2cm dialated! I had snot like discharge but nothing bloody or anything. I figured it was just a change in discharge.

Sometimes you lose it during labor in unknowingly like pushing or sometimes u just don't realize when u go potty i guess depends on your body not always how much u r dialated

You can lose your mucus plug without being dilated..I'm 1cm and 50% effaced and I've been losing bits of mine for two weeks
