My daughter was born at 34 weeks but with multiple birth defects, requiring 2 open heart surgeries and soothe surgery for gi issues.she spent her first 3 months in the hospital. She's now 19 months and amazing. These babies are such fighters. And NICU nurses are angels on earth. Hoping all goes well.
I had my twin sons aftur 28 weeks and 4 days, they were born around 1kg and we stayed at the NICU for 2 months, they are both healty as a normal child and you couldnt say they were preemies by their looks or behaviour :)
At 23 weeks I was put to bedrest at the hospital, my cervix had shortened and I was started dialation but everything stopped until they were born.
Good luck and I hope the baby will not come for now, it´s a hard time for everybody to stay at the NICU.
You can see a few photos here of my sons http://www.nino.is/oliverogaron/ :)
My baby was born at 23 weeks and is now almost 6 months old and healthy stayed in the nicu for 3 months
My niece was born at 26 weeks. She was 1 lb 9 oz and has cp and had epilepsy. She is now 15 years old and has cp only in her legs. She spent 3 months in nicu
I gave birth at 35.6w and even though he's a premie and small he was the right size for his gestational age. I haven't had any issues other than with him eating, he hadn't quite developed the sucking/swallowing reflex. But now he's eating very well and only has issues with breastfeeding and latching on, but i think that is bc at hospital they made me give him a bottle when he would fall asleep while breast feeding now he knows there's an easier option so he wont latch. Since the Dr said he is healthy it should be all good. Best of luck to you and your baby
My water broke at 27 wks. They kept me in the hospital for an addidtion 2 weeks then eventually induced me and at 29 weeks ny daughter was born at 29 wks weighing2 lbs9oz with no complications other then she was on a little extra oxygeb and a feeding tube. She spent two months in the nicu. She is now 2 1/2 & very healthy :) I also have incompetent cervix so with all my pregnancies I have to get a cerclage. Stay positive!
