Brachytherapy vs DaVinci Robotic Surgery??

My husband has to decide whether to have brachytherapy or da vinci. Gleason is 6  PSA 6.3   He is very confused as to which treatment to undergo.  If brachy is not successful can he still have surgery after that? We heard its not possible

Thank you so much for your response. He has decided to do Da Vinci prostactectomy. I have done alot of research on the subject and we both had a 2 hour appointment with a radiology physician and at the end of the consult we both knew that brachy and external beam was not the choice for us. So much information can make u dizzy but at the end of the day one must get rid of any cancer growing inside of them whatever the side effects.

Hi there!

Though a surgery would still be possible after a brachytherapy, it would be difficult and may not be as successful. You may like to discuss the pros and cons of one over another in detail with your treating urologist.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
