Ejaculations

Could my husband be releasing urine during ejaculation? He had surgery to remove his prostate & lymphnodes 18 months ago. He is unable to become rigid so we are not able to have intercourse. Something is coming out though that is very wet, is this urine?

Thank you!! He is going in for his six month check up in two weeks. All of his friends have gotten bad news at their checkups within 3 years of their surgeries. It is hard to keep him positive especially with his doctor having a very cold personality.

It is possible for some men after prostate surgery to lose some degree of urinary continence only during ejaculation and not at other times.

He has no other continence problems. In fact he is able to urinate easier now than at any other time in his life. The only time this happens is during our attempts to have a sexual experience.

Hi. From what you have described, I would say that your husband is indeed leaking out some urine during ejaculation.  This is not unusual for men who have had prostatectomy (surgical removal of the prostate).  Sometimes it takes as long as two years after surgery for these men to recover continence.  If your husband persistently has this problem, it would be best to see your urologist to deal with this complication.
